New Year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's 2012! a.k.a. our last year of existence... haha.
I am SO pumped for this year because it's the start of a lot of great things for me and I have a lot to look forward to.

First of all, tomorrow is my first day at BYU! (:
My books have been obtained, tuition= paid, I know where my classes are, and I'm allll ready!
I'm so thrilled to be going here, in case that isn't obvious, haha. It's great to be at a school that has so many incredible opportunities, and after today's New Student Orientation, I'm confident that it is the perfect school for me.

ANDDDD. I'm finally taking major classes! I'm just as confident in my career choice and I can't wait to get an education and make a difference in the lives of others.  After a semester of cleaning hotel rooms and scrubbing bathtubs and toilets, I couldn't be more excited to do something that I'm passionate about.

I'm overflowing with gratitude right now.  Everything has fallen into place the way it was supposed to, the way that God intended.  After about 2 years of struggle and growth towards this moment, I feel like I have been prepared to come to BYU and am becoming the person I'm meant to be.  I have had experiences and personally grown in ways that I wouldn't have otherwise if my life had taken a different path.  I've definitely learned the meaning of "grace in transition" in my life and am striving toward that kind of attitude every day as I face challenges.  Everything that I am and everything I have accomplished has been through hard work but mostly through God, and I definitely acknowledge that.  I am so happy because I have learned that following His plan for me and submitting my will to that plan brings many more blessings than I could ever have imagined.

Those are my thoughts for today... life is good, especially when you choose the right  (:

"My brothers and sisters, I declare to you, however, that there is nothing which can bring more joy into our lives or more peace to our souls than the Spirit which can come to us as we follow the Savior and keep the commandments..."

"The storms will still beat at our doors from time to time, for they are an inescapable part of our existence in mortality.  We, however, will be far better equipped to deal with them, to learn from them, and to overcome them if we have the gospel at our core and the love of the Savior in our hearts."
