So I’m at LAX right now waiting for my flight to Oakland to finally go HOME this summer. There’s a lot on my mind right now:
First of all, I’m SO sad to see camp end today. The kids there (as well as the staff) have made my summer post BYU-I so great and so worth all the time I spent there. Sure, it was a great job and I was able to make some money for this year, but I’ve had such a great expereince with Rolling Hills Country Day Camp these past two summers. All thanks to my boss, Todd Gordon, who made this all possible for me and I am SO appreciative of that! I love my campers and all the kids I came in contact with and I will surely miss this time in my life where I was blessed with such an opportunity. Summer is ending, and I’ll miss being carefree and not worrying about school or grades for a while… but I can’t wait to see my family this week and all my friends once I get to Utah!
So I’m also applying for a job at the Provo Marriott and I have an interview in a little over a week. I’m going for a full-time sales admisistrative assistant position and although I’m trying to be confident, I’m nervous because I really need this job. Besides tuition and car insurance, I’m on my own financially and I also think that it would be a great experience and would look good on my resume …so my fingers are crossed that I get it!
Also, I’m charging my phone and I hope it charges enough here before I get on the plane so I can listen to music… I’m at a cell-charging station and I should probably get to my gate!
(Copying Kate) Things That “Just Make Ya Smile”:
-Last night’s eventful outing with the Country Day Staff at Mulligan’s (I was the only one not “hotdogged” haha)
-Winning at and thinking I was super good at both mini golf and gokart racing until I realized it was only because I was the only one sober
-Camp’s code word for alcohol so that the kids don’t catch on (ex: “I had a few too many hotdogs last night”…haha)
-Spending one last day with awesome kids
-Compliments on my face painting skills
-Goodbye hugs from my boss and coworkers
-Nice converstations with strangers in airport security
- The security officer assuring me that the full body scan isn’t painful when he saw my face during it… hahahaha
- Looking forward to seeing my family again and being home (:
